Happiness is the best drug to survive cancer - or is it?

Staying happy makes surviving the ordeal much easier, according to two cancer survivors. One of them, Rashidah Akbar Khan, 51, was diagnosed with stage-four ovarian cancer a year ago, and has made it a priority to live happily and spend time with her family.

I agree happiness is important if you want to be motivated to complete your chemotherapy, radiotherapy, surgery, complications, relapse. It is an exhaustive journey that requires a lot of motivation and support. Any emotional upheaval can result in increased perception on severity of symptoms and may tip the patient into depression.
