As I was swimmer & now working as a pharmacist, I would recommend & advise every one to swim in order to get healthy, enjoyable, long term happy life style 

Regular exercise is always good for our health. Swimming is 1 of the best form of exercise, as it is a total body workout, involving every muscles, bone, and joint on our body. Swimming is a good way to burn our calories. Swimming can be an ideal sport to do when we are dealing with joint injuries. Swimming can be relaxing and refreshing after a long day of work.
