Raspberry-Avocado Smoothie

  • 1 avocado, peeled and pitted
  • 3/4 cup raspberry juice
  • 1/2 cup frozen raspberries, (not thawed)
  • 3/4 cup orange juice

Puree avocado, orange juice, raspberry juice and raspberries in a blender until smooth.

Nutrition fact: 218 calories; 11 g fat(1 g sat); 6 g fiber; 31 g carbohydrates; 2 g protein; 88 mcg folate; 0 mg cholesterol; 20 g sugars; 0 g added sugars; 314 IU vitamin A; 62 mg vitamin C; 38 mg calcium; 1 mg iron; 12 mg sodium; 531 mg potassium


Creamsicle Breakfast Smoothie

  • 1 cup cold pure coconut water, without added sugar or flavor 
  • 1 cup nonfat vanilla Greek yogurt
  • 1 cup frozen or fresh mango chunks
  • 3 tablespoons frozen orange juice concentrate
  • 2 cups ice

Blend coconut water, yogurt, mango, orange juice concentrate and ice in a blender until smooth.

Watermelon-Mango Smoothie

  • 1 cup chopped watermelon
  • 1 cup frozen mango chunks
  • 1/2 frozen medium banana
  • 1 cup low-fat plain yogurt

Combine watermelon, mango, banana and yogurt in a blender. Puree until smooth.

Cherry Pina Colada Smoothie

  • 1 cup nonfat plain Greek yogurt
  • 3/4 cup frozen pineapple
  • 3/4 cup frozen pitted cherries
  • 1/2 cup coconut milk
  • Unsweetened coconut flakes for garnish

Combine yogurt, pineapple, cherries and coconut milk in a blender. Puree until smooth. Garnish with coconut flakes, if desired.

Blueberry-Peach Pie Smoothie

  • 1 cup nonfat plain Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 1/2 cup frozen blueberries
  • 1/2 cup frozen peach slices
  • 1/2 cup old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Combine yogurt, almond milk, blueberries, peaches, oats, honey (or maple syrup) and vanilla in a blender. Puree until smooth.

thank you, Alan. But, to be honest, I'm not the cook of the house so I don't have much recipes to share. My husband does all the cooking and I eat what he prepares. I try to tell him though to go easy on the fats and salt as I've noticed his cooking is more on palatability rather than health reasons. Good to know though that you try to eat as healthy as possible and one day, maybe one day, I will be a health freak myself, start doing my exercises and lessen my junk food intake. :) I ...

I needed this healthy smoothie recipes for myself as I recently bought a smoothie blender trying to start eating healthily by drinking smoothies instead of junk foods such as fries, crisps and chocolate.
