A proud Sri Lanka here! :) It is a huge achievement for a developing country like Sri Lanka to 'join the ranks of 34 countries that have been certified malaria-free since the 1960s.' In the past few years I have personally come across several cases of malaria, but all of them were foreign travelers who contracted the disease from another country.
