A new treatment modality for type 2 diabetes!

Type 2 diabetes; I am not incorrect if I address this non-communicable disease as the most popular. Because with the sedentary life styles, the prevalence of the disease has become so high. Few researches from the United Kingdom has exposed another master fact about this condition that there is a gene called TNFR5 that aids the destruction of insulin producing cells within the pancrease. They have found that blocking this gene has halted the destructive process of insulin producing beta cells. And the gene is very sensitive to incresed fatty acids and glucose levels in blood leading over expression of the gene. It sounds good because this new treatment modality will be a hallmark of the treatment of type 2 diabetes in the near time. 

I reviewed a recently published published article in Cell Death and Disease journal. The researchers were working on the premise of synergistic destructive effect of chronic hyperglycemia and hyperlipidemia on insulin producing beta cell mass.
