The ethical code and guidelines for doctors has not been updated in 14 years, but after six years of researching and collecting feedback, the Singapore Medical Council has released the 64-page document on Wednesday.

There is a clear conflict here in how SMC has decided to look at the updated ethics code and guidelines: A detailed and specific code would logically be outdated after a few short years as the industry and environment moves on; a general and nonspecific code does not become outdated, but it does not give people clear guidelines to follow.
