This is an interesting development in the medical drive against Zika virus. If the study proves to be true, vaccination against the ZIka virus will be exponentially accelerated with the help of natural antibodies from our Malaysian neighbors. I hope that the global health sector will expedite further studies to confirm the possible immunity of Malaysians against Zika. Even though the potential adverse outcome of microcephaly in fetuses that are affected with Zika have not been proven, some studi...

Philippines now recorded 6 of Zika cases. 4 of them are from Iloilo city with no history of traveling abroad. If this study is proven effective, hopefully a vaccine will be made available. It is better to have a vaccine as early as now. Since they are still working with this vaccine, what we can do now is prevention. Use of mosquito repellants, use of long sleeves and long pants, killing the breeding sites of mosquito, and as much as possible be prepared when travelling abroad. These are just si...

If what the professor is saying was true about some Sabahans being immune to this infection, then perhaps they can pool their human ...

So it is thought that Zika virus might have remained in Malaysia since then because Zika virus immunity is found in Malaysians. Malaysians have natural antibodies against this virus, therefore, virus will not affect the locals as it does the other parts of the world. But it is very necessary for pregnant women to ta...

Well, that is very interesting and surprising news to know that people from Sabah may already have immunity against the Zika virus thanks to natural antibodies. This may hold the key to an effective vaccination in the near future if the researchers were able to extract these antibodies successfully. The orang utan are among other apes that carry the virus for long time and it has been recorded that Malaysia has Zika virus since 1960! . However, I believe that the current taken precaution and pre...
