It is only normal to wonder how much another makes. It is generally not polite to ask someone how much money they would rake in so you are left there to imagine. Though when your colleague pulls up in the latest high end sports car next to your practical family care fuel saver, you get a pretty good idea of how much they make.

In the general population, the mantra is to never count other people's money. In our field, it is never mind the money. It comes to no surprise that specialties who do invasive procedures get paid more because it requires a really special set of skills to perform such. To answer this question, I think specialties that involve performing procedures have the highest professional fees. The Fees depend on the skill set required for the procedure and the length of time the patient is under the care of the physician. Though based on the Physician Compensation Report for US physicians I would say this is pretty accurate in general when it comes to which specialty makes more. The income of course is completely different for countries around Asia. I am already converting their incomes into our currency. :) Over here in the Philippines some people say that the "Triple O" specialties make the most.
