A similar incident happened in Sri Lanka several years back. About 20 men were hospitalized in a rural area, and I if I remember right 10-12 of them lost their lives. This happened out of nowhere and the police and the ministry of health started an extensive investigation. Turned out that all these men had consumed illegal alcohol, and on this particular day the extract has been mixed with methanol.
