A UNICEF report has revealed that a huge number of children is breathing in toxic fumes more than six times over safe limits as described in international guidelines. According to the report, about 300 million children are living in the areas with the most toxic levels of outdoor air pollution. Children are more at risk due to rapid and fast breathing and the cell layer of their lungs is more permeable to pollutant particles as compared to adult lungs.
