Well, patient identity is one of the most important aspects in medicine.Just last week, I witnessed a similar mix up in the ward that i am working. There were two patients in two adjacent beds by the same name. One patient is allergic to NSAIDs. The other patient who is not allergic to any medications was having some pain that needed an analgesic so my colleague ordered a NSAID on the bed head ticket of the patient.
