UNICEF strikes deal with six companies to halve pentavalent vaccine price

The UN Children's Fund has negotiated with six vaccine manufacturers to cut the price of a shot into half, protecting children against diphtheria, tetanus, whooping cough, hepatitis B and Haemophilus influenza Type B.

Sufficient allocation of funds in the healthcare sector, especially for prevention of diseases is an important step. I believe UNICEF is doing a great job by negotiating with the pharma companies manufacturing vaccines for the prevalent diseases, funding them sufficiently so that the load can be less to the common public and the use of these vaccines can be promoted for prevention of the diseases like whooping cough, diphtheria, and others.
