A link between RA mothers and childhood epilepsy!

Rheumatoid arthritis is an autoimmune disease where the own antibodies produced by the own body attacks the joints of the body and a new study finds that there is a link between autoimmune diseases and childhood epilepsy. Rheumatoid arthritis occurs in 1.3 percent of the world population and it remits within 5 years in 75 percent of the cases. A new study led by Ane Lilleore Rom, Ph.D., of Copenhagen University Hospital in Denmark says that there is a 90% increased risk of childhood epilepsy with mothers with RA on there pregnancy  period and 30% with preclinical RA. The research was done with the clinical records of 2 million babies born during 1977 and 2008.

RA is very panic disease effecting all age of humans, but majorly adult age above 40 years are more susceptible as you said it is an auto immune disease and being no complete treatment but only symptomatic treatment exists up to till date. Epilepsy is characterised by abnormal seizures affecting all ages of human. These two are comes from among terrific diseases and I have seen many patients troubling with the two diseases.
