Recently, I've read about the case of an English teen who won a case in having the privilege of having her body preserved through cryonic preservation. Apparently, she has cancer and while she was alive, she thought that there might be a chance in the future that her body can be restored and cured of cancer. Of course this sounds like science fiction, but with the advent of recent technological advances, I am in agreement that there is a possibility that these things can happen. Just wanted to get the opinion of healthcare professionals if they would have their body cryogenically preserved, given the opportunity. Having said that, would you avail of cryogenic preservation, given the opportunity?

Marinelle Castro Ya unfortunately the funding comes from such rich people and the scientists of course have not much say or even no say on who can use this technology. This reminds me of the movie 2012 where they were supposed to load people of good genetic traits to continue the human race but a lot of "unfit" individuals who were rich got on. Contrary to your decision, I am actually considering in engaging in this form of technology. Not because I am hoping for immortality, but because I am really curious of how the world will look like after decades and centuries. At the rate that science and technology is advancing now, I a...

I imagine that there will be people seeking to follow the same path in the hope of living again later in life. I can to some extent understand their perspective. However, I personally don’t like the idea of coming back from dead to life. Once it is over, it is over. I would prefer to be buried in the earth so that my body can decompose and my ...

Really now? Hmm well given that the patient is young and with terminal illness it is acceptable to some extent. I don't feel all too comfortable with the idea of cryogenic preservation as again there is a potential for abuse like the uber rich can choose to avail of this to wake up in the future. Again strong very rigid guidelines should be set for this. I personally may not want to be preserved unless there is some reason beyond my own personal benefit that requires me to be preserved. Like...
