This is not the first time to produce blood cells from skin in mice. Previous trials have proven the ability to obtain fibroblast cells from mouse skin. And with further treatment with the right cocktail of chemicals, it can be transformed into neurons and heart muscle. In 2010, the Canadian team has actually transformed human skin cells blood without first being sent through a primordial, stem-cell-like state. Direct conversion of cell types could offer safer, simpler treatments than stem cells...
