Psoriasis vulgaris is a non-communicable or non-infectious, chronic autoimmune skin disorder which affects about two percent of the world’s population. Just like most diseases, psoriasis confers a higher risk if one has a relative or a family member who has psoriasis. In about 75 percent of patients with psoriasis, the condition starts to appear before a patient is 40 years old. It is not commonly seen in children.
