Singapore and Denmark are both quite similar in terms of demographics, thus it is useful for Singapore to learn from Denmark‘s current strategies. Rehabilitative care was mentioned to be expensive in Denmark, but patients often return healthier and so money will be saved as a result. An interesting case study would be Cycling Without Age in Denmark‘s context. The elderly population would receive free rides around the town of Coppenhagen and share their stories with their trishaw riders, memorable stories can then be remembered and passed down from generation to generation. Even in medical schools like Singapore, there are projects which target palliative care, where students help to preserve the legacy and stories from unique elderly individuals. How else can we better improve technologies and policies in place for our ageing populations?
