I agree with the article that the number of individuals with autism on the rise could be due to larger awareness over the years, there are fewer individuals who go undiagnosed. Eary intervention is important for children, to ensure that the learn sufficient life support skills and hopefully will be able to contribute to the workforce (of course this is also dependent on the severity of the child's condition). Social support for these individuals is necessary as well, like that of day care centres for adults, and more job education opportunities catered to them. We could discuss about what other services these individuals require and if healthcare professionals are equipped with necessary skills to treat such individuals with care?
