Drugs, like any commodity, has undergone inflation over the years. Drugs like H.P. Acthar Gel, has increased its cost from $40 a vial in 2001 to $38,000 today. This places a great strain on Medicare which aims to subsidise this drugs for patients. Acithar has not been proved to be more effective than other drugs which cures the same conditions, and are sold at a cheaper rate.
