In Asian traditions, old wives’ tales and superstitions are part and parcel of life. It is one of those things that connect people with their culture and heritage. Many of these superstitions are related to people’s physical and mental conditions, including the do’s and don’ts of pregnancy, post-surgery and even coughs or colds. Although the younger generation has mostly abandoned these beliefs due to the influence of a western-style education, many people still hold on to the old ways.
