Crowdfunding in the face of unaffordable healthcareShared by:
In a crowdfunding story with a happy ending, Singaporeans have helped to pay for the medical bills of Aroonrak Jattanathammajit, a Thai student who was hit by a car and in a coma, through crowdfunding on GiveAsia. At the end of the two-week online campaign, $132,763 has been donated by 925 people. It helped the poor family to settle the outstanding bills of approximately $57,000, and the latest update in January 2017 stated that she has returned to Thailand to recuperate in a hospital.
