A hundred nutritionally-at-risk pregnant women will be chosen from two provinces in Central Luzon to be the first recipients of the Department of Health’s (DOH) First 1,000 Days Program, and will be provided with nutrient-fortified meals to combat low birth weight.

Low birth weight as one of the leading cause of mortality here in the Philippines is rampant. Having this movement by the DOH 1,000 days campaign is just one of the preventive measures to fight and prevent the reccurence of further mortality. I wonder why it has been stated that the funds depends on the donation, and fund raising is a part of the campaign. They don't have the enough funds on nutrition, but has a lotted more for giving out condoms. Just imagine how many pregnant mothers can b...
