PH: No more lead-based paints in schools – DepEd

The Department of Education (DepEd) has ordered a ban on use of lead-based paints in schools nationwide to prevent schoolchildren from being exposed to toxic substance coming from the paints that contribute to a number of disabilities.

Though this is great news, this is such a late reaction regarding the issue on lead-based paints. It has been known for many years that a lot of paints contain lead which could cause poisoning especially to young children who accidentally ingest it - we even studied this in college more than ten years ago, and I thought all along that lead-based paints have been phased out. So it is actually a surprise to me that they are reporting and enforcing this just now. How about in your respective countr...
