What age are children diagnosed with ADHD and is there evidence that it can be diagnosed in toddlers? What is the outlook for a child who is diagnosed?

I think that ADHD is quite hard to diagnose in children less than 4 years old. Naturally, toddlers have very short attention spans and find it difficult to maintain focus. They are always on their feet, jumping and restless little beings. In my clinical experience, its rather safe to give a diagnosis of ADHD once the child starts going to school.
