This is an interesting theory by the researches from the University of Bath. I think they are doing a parallel on the effect of high glucose levels to the immune system of the brain with the immunocompromised states of diabetics. This is interesting especially since GLUT-3 transports glucose to the brain and is not insulin sensitive. It means a steady stream of glucose is brought to the brain and higher levels of sugar can possibly be brought with a sugar-rich diet. More investigation has to be ...
