When patients become their own doctors

One of the most common problems in clinical settings is when patients self-medicate. Because most people have access to the internet, a lot of people would resort to googling their symptoms wherein they would actually get enough information to diagnose their own conditions. In this regard, the practice of medicating one's condition became more popular. In my experience, I have met individuals who have self-diagnosed themselves with tension headaches or migraine, only to find out that they have brain tumors. Do you have any similar experiences?
