The former owner of a Massachusetts pharmacy who was behind a massive meningitis outbreak was acquitted of murder but faced racketeering and fraud charges.

Barry Cadden, a pharmacist, was recently acquitted of second-degree murder. His case was producing steroids under unsterile conditions which led to formation of fungus and moulds in the medication. Patients who were injected with the contaminated steroids subsequently developed and succumbed to meningitis. I do not understand the verdict as it is blatantly clear that Mr. Cadden's preference of making profit over patient safety played a role in the death of the patients. For the MIMS communit...
