Air pollution linked to gastrointestinal bleeding

Hong Kong has long been plagued by increasingly serious levels of air pollution. A large study analysing over 8,000 emergency department presentations in Hong Kong’s elderly population has discovered that short term exposure to air pollution increased the risk of a bleeding peptic ulcer by 7.6%.
