Ingesting good bacteria found in the intestines of a donor into a diseased patient’s body is administered through an enema; essentially a procedure called faecal microbiota transplant (FMT). While the procedure has a high success rate of curing patients with intestinal problems, it is done through an evasive practice. Scientists have since come up with an alternative method – administering FMT orally.
