A recent court ruling which sent a foreign businessman to the jail, for seven months, and three strokes of the cane—after he was found guilty for molesting and insulting the modesty of a local private nurse—has brought to light the pressing need to address protection measures for home-based private nurses. Industry experts have since called for enhanced protection for private nurses—especially when the home care sector is set to expand in coming years.
