The state-run insurance firm has scrapped its Length of Stay (LOS) requirement for pneumonia, acute gastroenteritis, and urinary tract infection hospitalization.

It is a good thing that the required length of stay requirement for pneumonia, urinary tract infection, and gastroenteritis. Personally, I find it absurd that one needs to be admitted for a certain number of hours to avail of healthcare subsidisation for PhilHealth members. Of note, this three conditions are common cases diagnosed in the emergency ward. Patients are usually discharged after initial management and do not get to seek for financial assistance from PhilHealth. This tweak in the rule...
