The Philippine Department of Health, under the administration of President Rodrigo Duterte, has vowed to prioritise mental health starting with awareness campaigns on the types of mental health disorders, the need for consultation and eventually, treatment.

I agree that this is a good platform by the Duterte administration. Aside from depression and suicide, I think they should also make efforts in improving the practice of addiction psychiatry. Since Pres. Duterte started his term, thousands of drug users and pushers have surrendered and pledged to rehabilitation. I am starting to be a fan of Rodrigo Duterte. He really has the foresight of a great leader although his use of verbal obscenities is a turn off.
